The Southern Heights 5th Grade Class celebrated the founding of the United States of America. They also learned about the Founding Fathers and some history of early America.
The students showed respect to the flag.
The American colonists threw tea (bags) overboard into Boston Harbor.
John Hancock "I guess King George will be able to read that!"
George Washington "It is better to be alone than with bad company."
John Adams "Children should be instructed in the principles of freedom."
Thomas Jefferson "Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom."
Thomas Paine "An army of principles can penetrate where an army of soldiers cannot."
Alexander Hamilton "Promises must not be broken."
At the end of the play the students were allowed to have a group picture in classic American style with one silly picture at the end. A great end to a full week of learning about the history of the founding of the American Nation.
