Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, was a children’s book author and artist best known for classic books like “The Cat in the Hat” and “Green Eggs and Ham,” which are just as popular with kids today as they were years ago. Dr. Seuss Week is celebrated along with Read Across America this year from March 2 ( his birthday rememberance) through March 6th. The entire month of March, in fact, is dedicated to reading. The National Education Association (N.E.A.) aims to encourage reading and educate people about its benefits, especially among children and young adults. Events are organized across the nation by schools and organizations to promote the same. It begins on the birthday of Dr. Seuss and is dedicated to helping children become interested in reading and the creativity it inspires in the minds of young readers.
At Hobbs Schools, we can't think better way to celebrate the joys of reading than sitting down with a Dr. Seuss book. We hope you enjoy all the fun throughout the district!
