Fine Arts
The Hobbs Municipal School District strives to ensure that all students succeed academically, socially, and personally. Research has shown that continual education in the arts is an integral part in human development promoting soft skills like self-esteem, motivation, creativity, emotional expression, appreciation of diversity, communication, and social harmony. Participation in the arts has been shown to be a central element in students finding success in all academic areas.
The Fine Arts Department and its teachers strive to:
Create rich and immersive curriculum for all fine arts students, providing regular hands-on opportunities to create and perform together
Be knowledgeable of both their content and curriculum as well as post-secondary college and career opportunities in the arts for students to pursue
Encourage students to become leaders by taking control of their learning and effectively sharing their learning with others through a variety of performance and presentation opportunities
Use a variety of teaching methods and strategies to enhance the learning of all students and constantly encourage collaboration, creativity, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
Improve the cultural landscape of our school and community by offering a variety of performances and presentations for both student learning and community entertainment
