Maintenance staff from six campuses were recognized at the Jan. 24, 2017 school board meeting after the New Mexico Public School Finance Authority (NMPSFA) singled them out as among the best in the state.
College Lane, Mills, Coronado, Edison, Houston Middle School and the Hobbs Freshman High School earned 80 or more points following a statewide inspection that graded schools on factors that included cleanliness, ongoing building maintenance and repair response.
Their scores far exceeded the statewide NMPSFA average of 55 points, according to HMS Director of Operations Gene Strickland, who reported that every Hobbs school surpassed the average.
Maintenance staff who were recognized at the meeting included
Houston’s Heather Stuber, Teresa Rendon, and Johnny Taylor;
Debbie Harris and Rebecca Chacon at Coronado;
Lisa Lechuga, Bertha Rodriguez and (not pictured) Maria Hernandez at Hobbs Freshman High School;
College Lane’s Leticia Mendoza;
Tom Dunnigan and Rebecca Lujan at Edison and
Anthony Hernandez at Mills Elementary School.
