Homecoming Queen Court Announced

  A total of 16 Hobbs High School seniors are in the running for the title of 2012 Homecoming Queen. Nominated by student organizations or the student body at large, the girls will be introduced during a special assembly at Hobbs High School at 2:20 Friday afternoon.
  The Homecoming Queen will be crowned during Friday night’s half-time ceremonies at the HHS football game at Watson Stadium.
  The candidates are:
  • bengeJordan Benge, nominated by the HHS Band, is the daughter of Steve Benge and Loretta Milligan. A band section leader for percussion, Benge also is a member of Science Olympiad, National Honor Society and student council. She is both a student and teacher assistant at Maciolek School of Dance. She is escorted by Cory Dean, the son of Debbie Dean.

 

  • guzmanSamantha Guzman, nominated by the HHS Yearbook staff, is the daughter of  Vincent and Kimberly Guzman.  Guzman is also a member of student council and the National Honor Society.  She is escorted by Bryce Linson, the son of Gerald and Yvonne Tarbett.

 

  • herediaEvonne Heredia, nominated by the student council, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carrillo.  She also is a member of the National Honor Society, the yearbook staff and serves as emcee for the school pep assemblies.  She is escorted by her brother, Timothy Carrillo.

 

  • hernandezRuby Hernandez was nominated by the Hobbs High School Colorguard and is the daughter of Rodolfo and Eduvijes Hernandez.  She also is a member of the HHS band and student council. She is escorted by A. J. Juarez, the son of  Armando and Bonnie Juarez.

 

  • hicksMikaela Hicks, nominated by the National Honor Society, is the daughter of Tres and Debra Hicks.  She also is a member of Crosswinds Church Youth Group.  She is escorted by Tyler Drake, the son of Shawn and Kim Drake.  

 

 

  • hillLilliana Hill, nominated by the football team, is the daughter of Calvin and Sheri Hill.  In addition to being a football manager, she is a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Youth Group.  She is escorted by Jeremiah Hernandez, the son of Robert and Gina Quesada.

 

  • jonesBecca Jones, nominated by Acapella Choir, is the daughter of Tom and Connie Jones.  She also plays varsity volleyball, serves on the student council and is a member of Jefferson Street Church of Christ Youth Group. She is escorted by Alexander Salmon, son of Gilbert and Shannon Salmon.

 

  • kingstonKelly Kingston, nominated by the Hobbs High School student body, is the daughter of Joel and Kim Kingston. She is a member of student council, National Honor Society, is senior class vice president, is captain of the cheerleaders and is a dancer at Maciolek School of Dance. She is escorted by Gage Helms, son of Teresa and Chuck Landrum and Justin Helms.

 

  • landrumSydnee Landrum, nominated by the cheerleaders, is the daughter of Chuck and Teresa Landrum, and Kristi Baum.  She is a cheerleader, a member of student council and the senior class secretary.  She is escorted by Nathan Ross, the son of Philip and Amy Ross.

 

  • parchmanRebecca Parchman, nominated by FFA, is the daughter of Sid Parchman and Telisha Watson.  In addition to FFA, she participates in barrel racing, showing pigs, shooting sports, 4H and livestock judging.  She is escorted by Dylan Rippy, the son of Christy White.

 

  • roblesYara Robles, nominated by the Spanish Club, is the daughter of Raul Robles and Edith Cavarrubio.  She is a member of the Hobbs High School Spanish Club.  She is escorted by her brother, Raul Robles.

 

  • samaneigoItzel Samaniejo, nominated by the student body, is the daughter of Juan and Mayela Samaniejo.  She is a member of the Spanish Club.  She is escorted by Jonathan Arenivas, the son of Julio and Laura Arenivas.

 

  • seayAmber Seay, nominated by the Art Club, is the daughter of Donald and Barbara Seay.  She is a member of the varsity tennis team and National Honor Society.  Seay is escorted by Shaquille Swain, son of Helen Swain and Londus Franklin.

 

  • shoemakeMackenzie Shoemake, nominated by the Drama Club, is the daughter of Tracy and Krisi Shoemake.  She also is a member of  the band, National Honor Society and is a dancer for Maciolek School of Dance. She is escorted by Miles Wiseman, son of Lance and Kathie Wiseman.

 

  • tinleyLauren Tinley, nominated by student body, is the daughter of Pam Greebon and David Wojda.  She is a member of student council, National Honor Society, the band, Acapella Choir, the Drama Club, and her church youth group.  She is escorted by Richard Solano, son of Richard and Ruby Solano.

 

  • torresTopaz Torres, nominated by Skills USA, is the daughter of Aria Torres and Bobby Rodriguez.  She is escorted by Yuri Farias, son of Gene and Trish Ruiz III.
