Homecoming Queen Court Announced
Homecoming Queen Candidates

    A total of 15 Hobbs High School seniors have been nominated for homecoming queen by clubs or the HHS student body. For the first time this year, the queen will be crowned during halftime festivities at Friday night’s Eagle football game with Roswell. However, the candidates will be introduced and three finalists named during an assembly beginning at 2:50 p.m. Friday in Tasker Arena. The queen also will be the featured participants in the Homecoming parade on Broadway beginning at 4:15 p.m. Friday. The candidates are:
    Angelique Escobar is the daughter of Paul and Vickey Escobar. Nominated by the HHS football team, she is co-captain of the varsity cheerleaders. She also is a member of the National Honor Society and HHS choir and was a long-time studehomecomingnt of Star Dance Academy. Escobar will be escorted by Shelby Reeves, the son of Shelby and Margaret Reeves.
    Hali Flores is the daughter of Juan and Shelly Flores.  Nominated by the HHS Art Club, she also is a varsity soccer player and National Honor Society member. She will be escorted by Kaleb Adams, son of Steve and Missy Nelson.
    Melissa Flores is the daughter of Merced and Alma Flores. She was nominated by the student body. Flores is a member of the HHS band and attends Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She will be escorted by Junior Porras, son of Sixto and Ramona Porras.
    Brittany Fuentez is the daughter of Leonard and Priscilla Fuentez. She was nominated by A Cappela Choir.  In addition to being president of the choir, Funtez  is  also drum major for the HHS Band. She will be escorted by Jeremy Small, son of David and May Small.
    Christal Holguin is the daughter of Roberto and Minerva Holguin. Holguin was nominate by the debate club – of which she is president. She also is a member of the HHS Student Council and NMJC Skills USA team. She will be escorted by Ricardo Juarez, a son of Samuel and Estela Juarez.
    Tori Cessily Jackson is the daughter of Donald and Lorna Jackson.  Nominated by the HHS National Honor Society, Jackson also is a student council member and member of the HHS band. She attends Scharbauer Street Church of Christ. She will be escorted by Allan Curry, son of Mary and Charlie Curry.
    Shyanne Haisten is the daughter of Ronnie and Georgianne Simon. She was nominated by Skills USA and is a chapter president and state officer  for that organization. She will be escorted by Javier Marin, a son of Martin and Brenda Marin.
    Amy Klepper is the daughter of John and Cathy Klepper. She was nominated by the HHS cheerleaders and also is vice president of the HHS National Honor Society, is an assistant editor of the HHS yearbook and is a member of the HHS student council. She attends First United Methodist Church. She will be escorted by Tanner Wilson, son of Quintin and Brenda Wilson.
    Amanda Martinez is the daughter of Francis and Sal Esquivel. She was nominated by the HHS Color Guard and attends Choose Life Church. She will be escorted by Dylan Baxter, son of Andrea Baxter.
    Cynthia Patterson is the daughter of John and Carrie Patterson and Leo and Lisa Wilson. She was nominated by the HHS Yearbook staff and is editor of this year’s  annual. She also is a member of the National Honor Society. Patterson will be escorted by Lucas Salmon, son of Lupe and Julie Salmon.
    Spencer Ragland is the daughter of Kelly and Donna Ragland. A flute player, Ragland was nominated by the HHS band. She will be escorted by Jermey Guajardo, the son of Gilbert and Gracie Guajardo.
    Taylor Rather is the daughter of Tracy Jarrett. Nominated by FFA, she was a greenhand president and secretary. She also is a member of the HHS golf team and HHS Student Council. She will be escorted by B.J. Hicks, son of Rick and Barbara Hicks.
    Katy Rhoads is the daughter of Kris and Shannon Allen and Matt and Kim Rhoads. She was nominated by The National Honor Society and also is a member of the varsity cheerleader squad, HHS Yearbook staff and is a past member of student council. She also is a longtime student of Maciolek School of Dance and attends Bethel Baptist Church. She will be escorted by Jacob Saenz, son of Valentine and Juana Saenz.
    Bianca Sanchez is the daughter of Esteban and Ofelia Sanchez and was nominated by the student body. A member of the St. Helena Church Youth Group and Hobbs co-ed softball league, she also volunteers at the Family Health Care Center. She will be escorted by Diego Ortega, son of Osvaldo and Veronica Ortega.
    Sarah Woomer is the daughter of Tim and Diane Woomer.  Nominated by the student body, she is a varsity cheerleader, president of the National Honor Society, member of the HHS Student Council and part of the HHS Yearbook staff. She is a longtime student of Maciolek  School of Dance and also is a member of St. Helena Catholic Church. She will be escorted by Tyler Wilson, son of Quintin and Brenda Wilson.
